A Look at the Fallout New Vegas Trailer
Fallout New Vegas recently got a release date of Fall 2010 and trailer.
The video game isn't a direct sequel to 2008's Fallout 3. It takes place in a sci-fi styled Las Vegas instead of the Capitol Wasteland.
While there isn't much concrete information about the new title yet, there is plenty of speculation and a trailer to deconstruct.
Fallout New Vegas Trailer
The 2 minute trailer starts off with an animated cowboy face on a television.
Frank Sinatra singing Blue Moon is heard in the background.
This is classic Fallout style.
I'm glad they are keeping the great old music that I fell in love with while playing Fallout 3.
The use of 1950's and earlier music has always been a staple of the Fallout games.
The camera then pans out showing a robot shifting through sand.
At first, I thought this was a Robo-brain.
The camera pans out again showing the cowboy TV image is actually the robot's head.
As sand falls through the robot's "hands," you can see a corpse half buried in the desert.
The scene gets wider and lights (http://www.associatedcontent.com/theme/1626/lights.html) are visible.
On a cliff, a figure stands looking over what only can be New Vegas.
Behind the person is a tattered California state flag.
On the figure's helmet is the number seven.
The trailer ends with Ron Perlman's signature voice-over of "War...War never changes."
Finally, the Fallout New Vegas logo comes up with a neon lightening bolt over the "o" in Fallout.
What Can We Gather From the Fallout New Vegas Trailer?
Besides the familiar music, there isn't much.
The trailer is very dark.
I think the biggest surprise is Vegas. Unlike the destroyed Capitol Wasteland in Fallout 3, Vegas looks like it is thriving, as much as any city can after nuclear war.
What appears to be the Strip is brilliantly lit up. What does this mean for the game?
Will Vegas just be a glitzier version of Megaton or Rivet City?
Are the bright lights (http://www.associatedcontent.com/theme/1626/lights.html) meant to give a false sense of security?
It's clear from the trailer problems aren't far away, as seen by the half buried corpse.

Ich glaub mein Most Wanted "Alan Wake " könnte auf Platz 2 rutschen^^
