Japan's 1st Boys-Love Bar to Open in Tokyo's Akihabara

"MiracleJumP" caters to female boys-love fans, distinguishes itself from gay bars
Not-So-Daily Link of the Day II: KT Systems has announced that it will open what it describes as Japan's first boys-love bar in Tokyo's Akihabara otaku shopping district on May 30. According to KT Systems, the MiracleJumP bar will have both "two-dimensional" staff members (in the form of dōjinshi characters) and living boys-love staff members.
KT Systems emphasizes that the bar will be different from the gay bars and host clubs that already exist in Japan. In host clubs, male staff members attend to their mostly female clientele with drinks and conversation. (There are also dansō clubs in which the female waiting staff members dress as men.) MiracleJumP's staff members will cater to both fujoshi (boys-love otaku) and beginning boys-love fans by recreating boys-love "fantasies" for them.
KT Systems already operates a 120-seat bar called "LittleBSD," which it describes as Akihabara's largest cosplay bar.

Große Ankündigung mit Yahoo morgen
Der japanische Publisher Square Enix hat eine Teaser-Webseite zusammen mit Yahoo! Japan ins Internet gestellt. Dort ist auf Japanisch zu lesen, dass die Ankündigung "die japanische Geschichte verändern" wird. Die Spekulationen ranken sich im Hinblick auf die Kooperation mit Yahoo! vor allem um ein Browserspiel.
Lange müsst ihr euch auf die Vorstellung des Spiels aber nicht mehr gedulden, schon am morgigen Freitag, 21. Mai, wollen Square Enix und Yahoo! die Hüllen fallen lassen.

53% of Women: “No Way Can I Win Against a 2D Girl!”
53% of Japanese women surveyed reveal once again they have no confidence that they could win their boyfriend back from the non-existent clutches of a 2D girl.
When asked whether they thought they could win against a 2D game character their boyfriend was besotted with, 53% thought they had “no chance” whist 47% had confidence they could defeat the pixelised challenger.
Placed in such a situation, 20% “wouldn’t really mind,” 45% “would like him to stop” and 28% would just like him not to do it in front of them. Only 7% would respond by dumping the offending male.
The threat from Nene appears great indeed, to these women at least.
Defeated women report their feelings of inadequacy:
“There’s no way I can beat that level of cuteness.”
“Their personalities are nice and they have no flaws. Complete perfection.”
“They’re made to be the ideal girlfriend after all.”
“Because he has a manual any man can enjoy a game as much as he likes.”
Some women are irrationally optimistic all the same:
“A game can only play out as it is programmed to.”
“The girl in a game can’t offer the human warmth a real woman can.”
“The unpredictability of reality is a charm unto itself.”
“There’s no way a mere game could win against a real woman like me!”

In China’s case, simply copy some other country’s robotic icon, in this case resulting in an impressive life-size rendition of Optimus Prime.
Located northwest of Beijing’s “Bird’s Nest” National Stadium, Optimus stands at 12m tall and weighs some 6 tons.
Seeing that useless junk is so abundant in China, sculptors apparently considered it as well to use them to make a giant Optimus Prime. Thus the replica was created, using 5 truckloads of used car parts.
With Japan and Korea the undisputed giant robot superpowers of Asia in both fiction and statuary, it seems China will have to devise an original indigenous creation if it is to have any chance of challenging the likes of Gundam.
